Ford is working on a new headlight technology that adds a heating element to the outer lens surfaces. It activates when the lenses are covered in snow, ice, or even simple condensation.
The system will automatically detect when heating is needed by monitoring weather data like temperature and humidity, and then switch on accordingly. It can also choose not to heat if the battery charge is too low.
The benefits are clear, especially for drivers in snowy climates or areas with extreme humidity, where condensation can reduce headlight performance.
