The 2026 Cupra Leon Ve plug-in hybrid hatch arrives in Australia with 150 kW, 123 km EV range. Pricing from A$62,990. Learn more about this sporty PHEV.

Cupra has introduced the new Leon Ve Hatch in Australia. This plug-in hybrid joins the updated Leon lineup that arrived in the local market in late 2025. The model is designed and built in Barcelona.

The Leon Ve features a new PHEV hybrid system for the Australian range, producing 150 kW. It pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor. Combined output stands at 150 kW and 350 Nm (201 hp and 350 Nm). The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.7 seconds.

The key update over Cupra’s earlier hybrid system is the larger lithium-ion battery pack, with a usable capacity of 20 kWh. Under WLTP Euro 6EB standards, the hatchback can cover up to 123 km on pure electricity. AC charging is rated at 11 kW, and DC fast charging is also supported—though the exact power rating hasn’t been revealed.

Pricing for the Cupra Leon Ve in Australia starts at A$62,990 (US$44,943). It slots above the 110 kW mild-hybrid Leon S and below the 221 kW Leon VZx. As a 2026 model, it stands out by blending sporty hatchback character with a usable electric-only range for daily driving.
