Spy photos reveal the 2027 Lexus RX mid-cycle refresh testing near Nürburgring. Expect subtle exterior updates and a new dashboard inspired by ES. Coming late 2026 or early 2027.

Lexus is planning a mid-cycle refresh for the RX, its best-selling mid-size premium crossover. A camouflaged prototype was spotted on roads near the Nürburgring, where engineers were likely running tests before or after track sessions.

The fifth-generation Lexus RX debuted in late May 2022. It rides on the TNGA-K platform, which also underpins the Lexus TX, Toyota Highlander, and Grand Highlander. In the US, the 2026 RX starts at $52,375 including delivery.

The lineup includes the gasoline RX 350 and RX 350 AWD, the hybrid RX 350h AWD, and the plug-in hybrid RX 450h+ AWD. Power outputs stand at 275 hp for the gasoline version, 246 hp for the hybrid, and 304 hp for the PHEV.

Judging by the prototype, exterior changes will be subtle. Most of the disguise covers the front end, while large portions of the body remain exposed. A source says the front area will get the most significant updates, and the cabin is expected to feature a new dashboard inspired by the Lexus ES, TZ, and upcoming NX.

The updated RX is expected to premiere in late 2026 or early 2027. Among the new models for 2026 and beyond, the Lexus RX will maintain its focus on hybrid powertrains and a mild facelift.
