Electric Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is now orderable, with up to 1,169 hp, 0-100 in 2.1 seconds, and 600 kW charging. Starting at €154,700 in Germany.

Mercedes-AMG has begun taking orders for its new GT 4-Door Coupe. At launch, two versions are available: the AMG GT 55 4-Door Coupe and the AMG GT 63 4-Door Coupe. Pricing in Germany starts at €154,700 for the base model and €196,350 for the GT 63.

The headline feature is a fully electric powertrain. For the first time in a production Mercedes-AMG, axial electric motors are used—two at the rear and one up front. The top version produces up to 860 kW (1,169 hp). Sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 2.1 seconds, and 0 to 200 km/h is dispatched in 6.4 seconds. With the optional AMG Driver's Package, top speed hits 300 km/h.

Charging capability is equally impressive. Mercedes-AMG claims a peak charging rate of 600 kW, allowing a 10-minute charge to add over 460 km of range. A 10 to 80 percent charge takes about 11 minutes, enabled by the optional AMG Performance Charging Package with extra cooling components.

An intriguing feature is the AMGFORCE S+ mode, which mimics the character of a V8—including engine sound, throttle response, and even torque interruption during virtual gear shifts. In essence, Mercedes-AMG is attempting to preserve the emotional feel of a gasoline sports car in an electric model.
