Ford has removed the gate — and the 2027 Explorer Tremor finally gets what used to be reserved for the sportier ST. We’re talking about the Sun and Sound Package, and its arrival on the off-road trim is a far louder event than it looks at first glance.
What’s inside? A 14-speaker, 980-watt B&O audio system, front multicontour seats with Active Motion and — the real surprise — the Panoramic Vista Roof with a power shade. The very same roof that vanished from the lineup for the 2026 model year. Back then Ford swapped it for a fixed glass panel and, judging by the comeback, miscalculated. One year later, it’s back on the options list.
But Tremor buyers don’t get Sun and Sound for free. You can only order it paired with the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost. With the base 2.3-liter turbo four-cylinder EcoBoost the option is off the table — and that seems to be final. Want premium sound and a panoramic roof on the off-road version? Pay up for the bigger engine.
Ford is keeping the Tremor price tag under wraps for now. There’s a benchmark, though: on the 2026 Explorer ST the same Sun and Sound cost $3,340. Whether the Tremor figure lands higher, lower or right on top of that — we’ll find out closer to the sales launch.
Earlier, the 2026 Ford Expedition gained several four-wheel-drive setups.
