Hyundai says the compact Casper Electric has been named the best car under €25,000 at the Golden Steering Wheel 2025 awards. The honor, presented by Auto Bild and Bild am Sonntag, highlighted the car’s practicality, roomy interior, and fast charging of up to 85 kW that takes the battery from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 30 minutes. In a compact EV, that mix tends to matter most in everyday use.

From January to October 2025, Casper Electric sold more than 30,000 units in Europe. Around 31 percent of those went to Germany, where the model led the small electric car segment ahead of the Fiat 500 and Dacia Spring. With a share above 35 percent in its class, the lead looks convincing.

Hyundai notes that this momentum fits its broader push to expand the electric lineup, including new 2026 models. Casper Electric had previously been named Electric Car of the Year at the World Car Awards and earned four stars in Euro NCAP crash tests.

The company plans to keep developing its EV range—from Casper Electric to Ioniq 9—while concentrating on design, technology, and everyday usability. For buyers, that focus often makes the difference between a clever concept and a car that works seamlessly day to day.
