While Dodge is still sizing up the new Charger with a Hellcat V8, the Ford Mustang is already getting tuning treatments that push the bar so high a standard GT feels like a warm-up. And one of the loudest answers to the upcoming Hellcat came from an unexpected corner — Hennessey. Their Super Venom package for the S650 Mustang GT turns the iconic coupe into a beast with 850 horses under the hood.

From the outside the car doesn’t look like a show car on steroids. Sure, it has functional fender louvers, lower body cladding, a rear deck wing, a ducktail spoiler, signature decals and a few unmistakable details. But to a passerby it’s still just an aggressive Mustang, not a car that has to shout its numbers from every inch of bodywork. And that’s the charm.

The real magic is hidden under the hood. The Super Venom package brings a high-performance supercharger system, a high-flow intake tuned for serious airflow, and Hennessey’s in-house HPE calibration. The result? The 5.0-liter V8 delivers 850 hp and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm). Peak torque arrives at 4,900 rpm, peak power at 7,250 rpm. The stock Mustang GT could only dream of those figures.

Hennessey isn’t just making the coupe faster — it’s building a car that beats the upcoming Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat to its own turf. Big V8s, superchargers, raw American muscle. And it’s arriving fully loaded. The upgrades go far beyond the engine. The Super Venom gets lightweight 20-inch wheels, carbon fiber bits, exclusive emblems, a numbered dashboard plaque, new all-weather floor mats, and a cabin trimmed in Hennessey leather and Alcantara. This isn’t just “tune plus blower” — it’s a complete package with a personality of its own.

Hennessey makes a point of stressing that the build is done professionally, with every car dyno-tested and road-tested. The modifications come with a 3-year / 36,000-mile (57,936 km) limited warranty. For a car with this much power, that detail matters: the buyer is paying not just for the press-release number, but for the confidence that the package has been validated and won’t fall apart after the third traffic light.

The beauty of the Super Venom is that it doesn’t try to turn the Mustang into something else. It’s still a classic American V8 coupe — just pushed to a level where 850 hp becomes the headline argument against any future Hellcat. The new Charger is only just getting its big gasoline engine back. And this Mustang is already on the line, supercharger spinning, grin firmly in place.
