ADRO выкатил в Японии официальный карбон для GR Yaris — CFD, инженеры F1 и капот за 429 000 иен. Это уже не тюнинг, это отдельный проект.

Carbon fiber is returning to the GR Yaris — and this time it’s serious. Toyota’s hot hatch has just landed an official Japanese sales channel for ADRO’s carbon parts. The main bet is on the pre-facelift generation (September 2020 to March 2024), though several pieces also fit the updated car.

ADRO is a California brand, and this isn’t just carbon-flavored decor. The kit was developed with 3D body scanning and CFD flow simulation, and the engineering team includes people who cut their teeth on Formula 1 aerodynamics. For the GR Yaris that matters: the car was born as a rally homologation base. Empty “carbon-for-looks” would feel almost offensive here.

Now the numbers. The most expensive piece is the prepreg hood at 429,000 yen — roughly $2,643 at current rates. Improved heat dissipation and weight reduction are claimed. The carbon front lip is 139,700 yen, around $861. The side skirts run 157,300 yen, about $969. The rear diffuser and prepreg spoiler cost 192,500 yen each — roughly $1,186 apiece.

There’s a practical catch. Add international shipping and import duties, and factor in a delivery window of one to two months. The full kit easily outgrows “light tuning” and becomes a project of its own — either for an owner who actually drives hard, or for someone building an expensive visual statement.

Against HKS, Blitz and other Japanese GR Yaris upgrades, ADRO plays a different game. The bet isn’t on power — it’s on aerodynamics and materials. This isn’t a rival to a tune or an exhaust. It’s the next layer of tuning, the one you reach when the engine is no longer the only way to make the car sharper.
