Nissan confirms KAIT compact SUV, built in Brazil for global markets
Nissan confirms the KAIT compact SUV for production in Resende, Brazil, with exports to 20+ countries. Filling the gap between Magnite, Kicks and X-Trail.
Nissan has officially confirmed the launch of a new compact SUV called KAIT, with production set to begin at the Resende plant in Brazil. It becomes the second crossover under a $5.4 billion (around ¥410.9 billion) investment program designed to strengthen the brand’s presence in Latin America and beyond.
KAIT will join Nissan’s global lineup and be exported to more than 20 countries, including Mexico. There is no word yet on deliveries to Japan, but interest is already strong: the vehicle’s design and size seem well suited to a market that favors compact urban crossovers.
The newcomer will complement Nissan’s existing models—Magnite, Kicks and X‑Trail—by occupying the gap between segments. Judging by the first published photo, KAIT wears a bold badge and a clean, contemporary silhouette that aligns with Nissan’s global design language; the stance looks cohesive and purposefully urban.
According to Nissan Latin America president Guy Rodriguez, the model was developed specifically for the region, built locally and planned for export worldwide. The company said it will share details on trims, powertrains and pricing closer to market launches in each country.
