GM launches four new electrified Chevrolets across the Middle East
GM accelerates electric mobility in the Middle East with four new Chevrolets: Equinox EV, Spark EUV, Captiva EV and Captiva PHEV—more accessible electrification.
General Motors has completed a successful rollout of four new electrified Chevrolet models in less than a year, markedly accelerating the shift to electric mobility in the Middle East.
Leading the charge was the new all-electric Chevrolet Equinox EV, which arrived in the region early this year. Soon after, Chevrolet introduced the compact hatchback Spark EUV. Positioned as the brand’s first budget-friendly electric model, it opened the door to EV ownership for a broader group of buyers.
GM then unveiled two more additions: a plug-in hybrid version of the popular Captiva, the Captiva PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle), and its fully electric counterpart, the Captiva EV. Together, these models expanded Chevrolet’s electrified lineup in the Middle East. Offering both hybrid and full-electric options under a familiar nameplate gives shoppers a measured path into electrification—choice often builds confidence better than a single halo car.
Taken as a whole, this cadence—mainstream crossover first, followed by an attainable city car, then hybrid and full-electric twins—looks like a pragmatic playbook for a region with diverse driving needs. For customers, it translates into more accessible entry points to plug-in driving without straying far from trusted Chevrolet badges.
