Tesla is entering Latvia and going live in Uruguay in the same week, with Model 3 and Model Y already homologated for South America.

Tesla isn’t sitting still. While everyone else is still guessing where it’ll strike next, the company has already opened two new fronts — one in Europe, one in South America. And this is no coincidence. It’s the same offensive playing out on two continents at once.

In Latvia, Tesla posted a short but telling message: “Coming to Latvia.” The legal entity Tesla Latvia SIA was registered back in late 2025 — so this has been in the works for a while. The company is now hiring staff for a service center and representative office in Riga. A sales start date? Still under wraps.

In Uruguay, things have gone well beyond talk. Tesla Uruguay SAS is officially registered, and local regulators have already homologated three versions each of the Model 3 and Model Y. Uruguay is now Tesla’s third official market in South America, after Chile and Colombia. And that’s just the opening move: cars will ship straight from the Shanghai gigafactory, and the company is already eyeing a Supercharger network for the country. Prices, trims, and delivery timelines remain a mystery for now.

Two continents, one strategy. Tesla is methodically filling in the blank spots on the map — and at this pace, this week’s announcements probably won’t be the last.
