The new Honda City e:HEV The Black Outshine arrives with a suite of visual tweaks that push the sedan in a darker, cleaner direction. Both front and rear wear black Honda badges, and the tail gets a matching dark “City” emblem to complete the theme.

The blackout treatment continues with 16-inch alloy wheels, door handles, and mirror caps finished in black. Up front, an RS-style grille joins the mix, topped with a black upper garnish that sharpens the car’s face without overplaying it. The result looks cohesive and deliberately sporty.

Buyers of The Black Outshine can pick from two body colors: Crystal Black Pearl or Platinum White Pearl. The contrast works especially well on the white paint, where the dark accents stand out with purpose.

Nothing changes beneath the hood. The Honda Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) hybrid system still uses a 109-hp electric motor to power the front wheels, keeping the focus on smooth, efficient driving.

The electric motor draws energy from a lithium-ion battery, which is charged by another electric motor acting as a generator and starter. This unit is paired with a 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder gasoline engine rated at 98 hp (97 hp or 72 kW) and 127 Nm. When it’s more efficient, the gasoline engine can connect through a single-speed E-CVT to provide direct drive at higher speeds. The setup remains familiar and proven—styling gets the drama, while the powertrain stays confidently the same.
