Nobody saw this coming — a bright yellow Hummer is back after 25 years. Just don't expect to order it in any trim you like. The ICON Yellow paint is exclusive to the anniversary Hummer EV ICON | 25, built to mark 25 years of the legendary H2. The limited-run special edition arrives in both pickup and SUV body styles, with the first units expected in early 2027.
Alongside the yellow, GMC has officially confirmed four more new colors: Azurite Blue, Dark Ember, Dark Ridge and Deep Void Matte. The last one is a brand-new matte option — and it comes with a catch: the automaker specifically warns it needs special care. For buyers, that's not just a cosmetic detail: matte paint is far less forgiving when it comes to fixing minor damage the usual way.
The exact final palette is still unclear. What does seem certain, though, is that Magnus Gray Matte, currently offered on the 2026 Hummer EV only with the Carbon Fiber Edition, is getting dropped. The outlet also expects Graphite Blue Metallic, Meteorite Metallic, Deep Aurora Metallic and Solar Orange to disappear, though GMC itself hasn't confirmed those four changes.
The anniversary ICON | 25 will be offered on 2X and 3X trims. Besides the yellow body, it adds black accents, new 22-inch wheels, an individually numbered dash badge and unique drive-mode graphics. Pricing hasn't been announced yet. Every 2027 Hummer EV will also switch to a built-in NACS port, while keeping the ability to send power back to the home with compatible equipment.
GMC says production will start before the end of 2026; an unofficial production schedule points to a December 14 launch. So far, exactly five new colors have been confirmed — not a full replacement of five old ones. The final picture should become clear once the dealer ordering system opens and the 2027 Hummer EV configurator goes live.
