Nobody expected the shake-up in Britain's luxury minivan market to come from XPeng — but here it is. The X9 is officially heading to the UK. Buyers get three versions to choose from: Standard Range, Long Range, and all-wheel-drive AWD. The first keys land in customers' hands in the third quarter of 2026.
The base version starts at £74,990 and covers 332 miles — about 534 km on the WLTP cycle. Want more? Pay an extra £5,000 for the Long Range, and the range jumps to 382 miles, roughly 615 km. Simple math: 80 extra kilometres for every extra grand.
Both front-wheel-drive versions carry a 235 kW motor — 320 hp. But the brand's real showpiece is the all-wheel-drive X9 at £84,990: 370 kW, 503 hp, 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. Power, it has. Range, oddly, it doesn't — the flagship trails the Long Range at 360 miles, around 579 km. A trade-off, it turns out, is part of the deal.
Every version rides on an 800-volt architecture, and a 10-80% charge takes just 12 minutes. Sounds impressive — but there's a catch: you need a charger rated at 537–542 kW, and those aren't exactly common yet. Battery temperature, starting charge level, and the charger's own limits can all stretch that stop out considerably.
The X9 measures 5,316 mm long with a 3,160 mm wheelbase. Seven seats and 721 litres of boot space round out the picture of a family flagship — and then some. UK warranty runs five years or 75,000 miles, with the battery covered for a full eight years or 100,000 miles.
And here's the interesting part: for long trips, the smart pick isn't the flagship AWD — it's the Long Range. For the same £5,000 premium, it delivers more range, while the step up to all-wheel drive buys you mostly power and acceleration — not miles.
