Ford isn't hiding it very well anymore. Two Ford Territory prototypes were spotted during road testing in Brazil, wrapped in camouflage front and rear, with one wearing a new set of wheels. Officially, the brand is staying quiet. Unofficially, this looks like a plug-in hybrid the local market hasn't seen yet.
If the Brazilian version gets the same setup already sold elsewhere, buyers are in for a treat. A 1.5-liter turbo engine rated at 150 hp pairs with an 82 hp electric motor for a combined 218 hp. Power still goes to the front wheels only — no surprises there.
Here's where it gets interesting. An 18.4 kWh battery delivers up to 115 km of pure electric range on the Chinese test cycle. With a full tank and a charged battery, total range clears 1,300 km. Fast charging from 30% to 80% takes about 14 minutes — barely enough time for a coffee.
Ford has already unveiled the updated Territory 2026 in Brazil, but the model's official page doesn't mention a hybrid powertrain at all. Launch timing, trim levels, and pricing for the electrified version remain a mystery. Remember this name — the Territory looks set to become Ford's first plug-in hybrid on the Brazilian market.
