Kia Seltos makes its European debut as a hybrid-ready compact SUV
Discover the new Kia Seltos for Europe: a hybrid-ready compact SUV targeting the VW T‑Roc, priced from around €27,000 for the fast-growing B‑SUV class.
KIA is preparing an important addition to its European lineup. On December 10, the brand will unveil the new Seltos—a compact SUV that will officially enter Europe for the first time, with the latest Volkswagen T-ROC firmly in its sights.
Already familiar to buyers in China, India, and Korea, the model reaches Europe in its second generation. According to 32CARS, the platform has been adapted for electrification, and the first cars spotted during road testing carried a hybrid setup and an ECO badge. The Seltos is expected to be smaller than the Kia Niro while plugging a gap in the fast-growing B-SUV class, where demand continues to outpace C-segment crossovers. The positioning looks timely.
Design will follow KIA’s current playbook: a broad tiger-nose front end, assertive body lines, and cues inspired by the brand’s latest electric models. The company says the Seltos blends the heritage of classic combustion-engine SUVs with contemporary aerodynamic solutions. If the production car stays close to that brief, it should resonate with European tastes without feeling derivative.
Pricing remains under wraps, but the target is around €27,000—enough to undercut the Volkswagen T-ROC.
An updated XCeed is also due in 2026, yet it is the Seltos that is expected to become KIA’s new high-volume bet for Europe: attainable, modern, and aimed at a broad audience—from young families to urban buyers seeking a hybrid with low fuel consumption and a convenient format.
