Kia has stopped hiding the good part. The next-generation Sportage, known internally as NQ6, is already running on public roads, and even the heavy camouflage cannot save it. The body sits taller, the corners are sharper, the roofline runs almost straight. The old rounded look is gone.
The SUV should grow over the current Sportage and offer a roomier cabin. The styling is expected to borrow from the new Seltos and Telluride — rugged attitude instead of soft curves. Official dimensions, final design and the reveal date are still under wraps.
But the real surprise waits inside. The interior shot reveals Pleos Connect, Hyundai Motor Group’s new infotainment platform with a smartphone-style interface, the Gleo AI assistant and an open app market. It was unveiled in late April 2026, debuted in May on the Hyundai Grandeur in Korea, and the Ioniq 3 will be the first European model to get it. By 2030 the group wants it in roughly 20 million Hyundai, Kia and Genesis cars.
Under the bonnet, another break with the past. Unofficially, the European line-up drops pure petrol engines altogether: mild hybrids, full hybrids and a plug-in version with up to 100 km of electric range. Kia has confirmed none of it.
The premiere is not expected before the end of 2027, and Kia still has not put a date on the calendar.
