Mercedes-Benz has just made its electric van look meaner — at least on the outside. German orders are now open for the VLE 300 in AMG Line and AMG Line Plus trims, and they change almost everything except the one thing that matters most: the power stays exactly the same. The front electric motor still delivers 203 kW, or 276 hp, according to SPEEDME.RU.
AMG Line costs 2,656.68 euros. For that money, buyers get a reworked grille, bumpers with larger air intakes, aluminum trim and 20-inch wheels. AMG Line Plus asks for 6,093.40 euros: it adds 21-inch wheels, dark chrome accents, red seatbelts and stitching, plus a matte carbon-look finish. Looking sportier doesn't mean driving sportier.
The base five-seat VLE 300 starts at 77,895.97 euros before delivery. The AMG Line Plus version will set buyers back at least 83,989 euros — and that's before any other options. At the same time, Mercedes has widened the interior layout choices: five, six, seven and eight-seat versions are now available, whatever the size of your family.
The options list includes heated electric rear seats, the Sky View panoramic roof, a head-up display and the three-screen MBUX Superscreen. The VLE 300's real trump card is its 115 kWh usable battery, good for 709 km on the WLTP cycle. Peak charging power reaches 300 kW: a 10 to 80% charge takes 25 minutes, and just 15 minutes on the fastest chargers adds roughly 355 km of range.
Waiting in the wings is the VLE 400 4Matic — a separate, dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version with more than 300 kW on tap. Mercedes hasn't confirmed the exact output yet, so the numbers floating around — 310 kW and 421 hp — remain provisional. The wait shouldn't be long.
