Cadillac Escalade owners have been asking for this for years — and now it's arriving over the air, with zero trips to the dealership. The GM Update 663.10 package brings three new camera features to 2025 and 2026 Escalade models at once: Surround Vision Recorder, Security Recording, and Cabin Glance. GM hasn't published an exact VIN-based eligibility list yet.
Surround Vision Recorder is essentially a built-in dashcam you never had to buy or stick to your windshield. The system saves footage from the surround-view cameras straight to a USB drive, splits trips into separate clips, and records in two-hour loops. There's no audio, and GM says it never gets access to the video an owner saves.
Security Recording kicks in exactly where a regular dashcam can't help — in a parking lot, while you're nowhere nearby. Trip the factory alarm, and the available cameras, including the cabin one, immediately capture a 30-second clip. One catch: without a USB drive already plugged in, the Escalade can't double as a security camera at all.
Then there's Cabin Glance, which isn't about evidence — it's about peace of mind right now. The feature streams a live feed of the second and third rows to the center screen, so a quick glance tells you whether the kids are asleep or the dog is still on the seat, all without turning around. Nothing here gets recorded or saved — it's for the driver's eyes only, in the moment.
The update also tightens up some everyday basics: the digital instrument cluster and rear-view camera get more responsive, while vehicle alerts and audible chimes become more reliable. No new hardware is required — it's all handled through software.
It's still unclear whether the incoming 2027 Escalade will get Surround Vision Recorder as well, and Cadillac notes that OTA updates only reach compatible vehicles after owners accept the terms of use, with a built-in connection or Wi-Fi required to download. In other words, simply owning a 2025 or 2026 model doesn't guarantee the update shows up on your particular vehicle.
