Nissan just turned its electric van into a full-blown camper — and the smart part isn’t the range, it’s the heater. The Eifelland Relax conversion costs €89,900, and its whole pitch rests on one trick: it can warm the cabin using the drive battery alone, far from any campsite or grid connection.
Underneath it all sits the Interstar-e, with an 87 kWh battery, a 143 hp electric motor, and 300 Nm of torque. Nissan promises DC fast charging up to 130 kW. An 11 kW charger comes standard; a 22 kW unit is optional.
Nissan quotes up to 460 km of WLTP range for the base van. A nice number. Except no test cycle accounts for a loaded camper: furniture, water, passengers, heating, and highway speeds all chip away at that figure. There’s still no certified result for the finished Interstar-e Relax.
The Truma Eezy heater runs at 450, 900, or up to 1,800 W and needs 230V AC power. So the bold claim about tapping the high-voltage battery directly deserves a caveat: a converter still has to sit between the battery and the heater. Nissan’s public spec sheet doesn’t confirm a standard V2L outlet, and Eifelland hasn’t detailed how its add-on system actually works.
Inside, there’s a fixed bed measuring 1.90 by 1.60 m, a 90-liter fridge, an induction cooktop, a sink, and a portable toilet. Storage tops out at nearly 2.6 cubic meters, and two of the four passenger seats can be pulled out entirely.
Meanwhile, Eifelland’s current listing prices the electric Interstar without the camper conversion at just €84,900. A €5,000 gap — that’s the entire cost of turning it into a full home on wheels. The next thing to watch for is a final price list and a real-world range figure for the loaded camper. For now, 410–460 km remains a benchmark for the empty van, not a guarantee for the finished home.
