It looks like Mercedes-Benz is finally about to do what everyone's been waiting for: the electric C-Class won't be a one-drivetrain-fits-all car anymore. According to specialist outlet JESMB, a rear-wheel-drive C 250 and an all-wheel-drive C 300 4MATIC could go on sale as early as autumn 2026. There's no official confirmation of the names or the timing yet — but the leak looks far too detailed to be a coincidence.
Both versions will get an 85 kWh battery. And the gap between them is the gap between “fast” and “seriously fast.” The C 250 will produce 260 kW, or roughly 354 hp, hit 100 km/h in about 5.6 seconds, and manage around 720 km of WLTP range on a charge. The C 300 4MATIC goes further still: 310 kW, or roughly 421 hp, with a range of about 690 km.
Right now, Germany only gets one electric C-Class — the C 400 4MATIC Electric — and it isn't cheap: prices start at €67,711. Then again, the output matches the price tag: its two electric motors put out 360 kW (490 hp) and a hefty 800 Nm, with an official range of up to 762 km.
Mercedes-Benz itself has only confirmed the broad strokes so far — additional rear- and all-wheel-drive versions with different battery sizes, including one variant with roughly 800 km of range. Tarantas News previously reported on the CO2 footprint study for the C 400 4MATIC. The C 200 and C 300+ designations, their specs, and a 2027 launch all remain unofficial for now.
