A hundred units. That's it, forever. Jeep has unveiled the Wrangler 85th Anniversary Edition to mark the brand's 85th birthday, and starting October 3, 2026, Japanese dealers will sell this rarity for ¥9.44 million.
Now here's the fun part. The car is built on the four-door Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, which currently retails for ¥9.34 million. So for the anniversary badge, the exclusivity, and the bragging rights, Jeep is asking for just ¥100,000 more — barely over 1%. No extra power, no extra off-road ability. Just the look.
Inside, there's plaid trim on the seats and dashboard, 85th badges and a shift medallion, special floor mats and a tailgate plate. Outside, everything falls into place: blue and bronze decals, a bronze tow hook, and 17-inch wheels finished in Steel Oxide against a black body. Understated, but unmistakable at first glance.
Nobody touched the mechanicals, though. The standard Japanese Unlimited Rubicon still runs the same 2.0-liter turbo making 272 hp and 400 Nm, the same eight-speed automatic, and the same Rock-Trac 4x4 system. Front and rear locking differentials and a disconnecting front sway bar are all still there. Anniversary or not, Jeep left the Rubicon's off-road character alone.
While Japan gears up for its October launch, Jeep already posted a different kind of record in Italy: the new Compass 2026 racked up 200 test drives at a single festival.
