Hennessey didn't wait long. At the SRT Performance Engineering Day in Detroit, the company unveiled the Maximus — an extreme version of the new Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT that leaves little doubt about its intentions. According to Carscoops, after upgrades to the 6.2-liter supercharged V8, output climbed to 770 kW, or roughly 1,046 metric hp, with 1,283 Nm of torque.
The engine gets an upgraded intercooler, a larger intake, and a proprietary ECU calibration. And it shows on the track: the claimed 0-60 mph sprint takes just 3.0 seconds, with the quarter mile covered in 10.9 seconds. Top speed is rated at 322 km/h (200 mph) — a figure you wouldn't expect from a pickup.
The Maximus also gets a VenomAero body kit with a front splitter, side skirts, and a large rear wing, plus a lowered air suspension and 22-inch wheels. That said, the rear wing has to come off to hit the claimed 200 mph.
The standard Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT makes 777 hp (roughly 788 metric hp) and 922 Nm of torque, with a top speed rated at 274 km/h (170 mph). Hennessey says the Maximus will arrive in 2027; pricing and an exact launch date haven't been announced.
