Ram has finally done what fans have been asking for years: the Power Wagon gets a diesel. The company has opened orders for the 2027 model year 2500 Power Wagon with the 6.7-liter Cummins High Output turbo-diesel — the first time such an engine has been available from the factory on this model. Starting price in the U.S. is $89,560 with destination.
The diesel inline-six makes 430 hp and 1,458 Nm of torque — and that much twist is enough to change the truck's whole character. Rated towing tops out at 8.9 metric tons, with payload of around 1.33 tons. Nearly double what the gas version offers. The engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic.
The Power Wagon stayed true to itself otherwise: front and rear locking differentials remain, so does the disconnecting front sway bar, and the Bilstein shocks and underbody skid plates haven't gone anywhere. Ground clearance sits at around 335 mm.
Earlier Tarantas News reported on another new pickup from the brand — the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT, which Hennessey turned into a 1,046-hp Maximus prototype. Deliveries of the diesel Ram 2500 Power Wagon to U.S. dealers are planned for the third quarter of 2026.
