XPeng is reaching for something bigger than just another crossover. G9L is the name of the technology flagship the company is preparing for global markets, and on August 11 the model finally steps into the spotlight in Guangzhou. Pre-orders open in China the same day. Five seats. Serious size. Serious ambition.
Start with the dimensions — they're striking. The XPeng G9L measures 5,120 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, with a 3,100 mm wheelbase. The all-electric version gets a 270 kW rear motor, while the all-wheel-drive setup pairs two motors, 160 kW and 270 kW. Combined, that's 430 kW, or roughly 585 horsepower — a number that sets the tone for the whole car. Who said a big crossover can't be quick? A version with a 1.5-liter gasoline generator is also planned, for markets not quite ready to go fully electric.
Every version runs on an 800-volt architecture — and that's where things get interesting. XPeng claims it can add 450 km of range in just nine minutes of charging. Nine minutes, and you're back on the road. For the Chinese electric version, certification data lists batteries of 91.9 and 110 kWh, with up to 805 km of range on the CLTC cycle.
But the most intriguing part is still ahead. The G9L's European debut lands in October at the Paris Motor Show, and there's already word of a six-seat variant built specifically for Europe. For now, XPeng officially calls the G9L a five-seater — but Paris may hold a surprise. XPeng's participation in the Paris Motor Show, running October 12–18, 2026, has already been confirmed.
