Continental has received global approval to supply EcoContact 7 tires for the new generation Renault Clio. The model will be fitted with 16- and 18-inch tires that score highly on the EU label for efficiency and low noise. It’s a sensible baseline for a compact car, putting frugality and quiet running front and center straight from the factory.

EcoContact 7 uses an updated rubber compound and Smart Energy Casing technology to reduce internal friction and rolling resistance. The sidewalls feature aerodynamic dimples inspired by golf balls, cutting turbulence and energy demand — a neat bit of aero thinking that stays discreet. The tread adopts a Silent Pattern tuned to lower noise at the slower speeds typical of city driving.

According to Continental’s press release, the tires are approved in sizes 195/60 R16 93H XL FR and 205/45 R18 90H XL FR for markets worldwide.
