The three unveiled models are positioned as TMC’s flagship sports cars, successors to the Toyota 2000GT and Lexus LFA. Co-developed under a common philosophy, they share three core traits: a low center of gravity, light weight paired with high rigidity, and a relentless focus on aerodynamic performance. The brief is purist—low, light, and slippery through the air.

GR GT

GR GT is a new flagship sports car that embodies TGR’s philosophy of creating ever-better, motorsport-inspired machines. From the earliest concept stage, a broad group of drivers was involved: master driver Morizo, professional racers Tatsuya Kataoka, Hiroaki Ishiura, and Naoya Gamo, gentleman driver Daisuke Toyoda, and in-house test drivers. Throughout development, the driver’s perspective took priority in every detail, starting with the seating position. The model is still being refined as drivers repeatedly put it through a cycle of shakedown, run-to-failure, and repair—just as with other GR products—an approach that tends to hardwire feel into the car.

With a front-engine, rear-drive layout, GR GT features an ultra-low center of gravity, Toyota’s first all-aluminum body for reduced mass and high rigidity, and an aerodynamics-first design. Its powertrain uses a newly developed 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with dry-sump lubrication, while the driveline employs a carbon-fiber propeller shaft and a transmission. The rear-mounted transmission is equipped with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, a single electric motor, and a mechanical limited-slip differential. The result is a car intended to be easy to handle for drivers of any skill level while enabling full, unfiltered interaction with the machine.

GR GT3

Based on the GR GT, the GR GT3 was engineered for racing around the world. Built to FIA GT3 regulations—the top category for production-based motorsport—it is aimed at both professional racers and gentleman drivers who want to win, while remaining easy to drive. Its aluminum space frame, low-mounted double-wishbone suspension, and 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 are all shared with the GR GT. The intent is as much usability as pace.

TGR seeks not only to make the GR GT3 a high-performance race car, but also to prepare an optimal support system for customers competing in international GT3 series.

Lexus LFA Concept

The Lexus LFA Concept is conceived as a true sports car in BEV form, created to exceed customer expectations. Like the GR GT and GR GT3, it was developed through a unified, team-based approach with chief driver Morizo.

The concept inherits and advances the spirit of the LFA, pursuing a balance of style and dynamic performance. By applying technologies and craftsmanship that deserve to be preserved, Lexus challenges the notion that electric sports cars remain in their infancy and takes on the task of shaping the future of automotive engineering.
