Say goodbye to the adapter. The 2027 Cadillac Escalade IQ will get a native NACS charging port instead of CCS1 — and for owners tired of carrying an extra dongle, that's a big deal. Cadillac's own materials confirm it: NACS will become the standard port across the entire 2027 electric lineup.
So what does that actually mean? The Escalade IQ will be able to plug straight into compatible Tesla Supercharger stations, no NACS adapter required. The 2026 model still runs on CCS1, and reaching the Supercharger network means using a General Motors-approved adapter. Cadillac says owners will have access to more than 29,000 of these chargers.
But don't write off the old infrastructure just yet. The switch to NACS doesn't mean CCS1 disappears: Cadillac will offer a CCS1 adapter for the new NACS-equipped EVs, and matching adapters will cover existing J1772 AC chargers too. General Motors expects every new 2027 Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac EV to carry the native NACS port by the end of 2026.
The 2026 Escalade IQ and the longer Escalade IQL recently launched in the Middle East. Cadillac hasn't yet published the exact charging specs for the 2027 Escalade IQ.
