Jeep isn't touching the engine on its 85th Anniversary Compass — instead, it's making sure almost nobody gets one. Just 85 units, gold accents, and a price that matches a regular top trim.

Just 85 units — that number, not new hardware, is the whole point of the Jeep Compass 85th Anniversary Edition. The special version has launched in India starting at ₹26.70 lakh, or roughly $27,900. Coincidentally, that figure lines up almost exactly with the current starting price of the regular Compass Model S at official Jeep dealers.

The edition continues Jeep's anniversary campaign, marking 85 years since the original Willys appeared in 1941. In July, the brand already rolled out 85 units of the Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition in India, and now the same limited-run playbook has reached the smaller Compass.

The Compass gets 18-inch black wheels, anniversary-specific trim details, and an all-black cabin with Mayan Gold accents. According to Team-BHP, the car is also offered with AXS packages that add ambient lighting, sunroof-zone lighting, a digital rearview mirror, and dashcams.

Mechanically, nothing changes. The official Indian spec sheet still lists a 2.0-liter MultiJet II turbodiesel producing 170 hp and 350 Nm, paired with a 9-speed automatic.

The takeaway is simple: buyers aren't getting a faster Compass, just a rare factory configuration built around familiar mechanicals. That's what separates this launch from a real model update — its value comes from the production number and the unique details, not from engine specs.

Next up will be the Compass 85th Anniversary Edition's appearance in Jeep's official Indian configurator, along with word on how all 85 cars are split among dealers. As of now, Stellantis Media's public feed hasn't posted a dedicated release for this Compass edition — the last anniversary product release there remains the Meridian, dated July 24, 2026.
