According to AutoData, a shipment of 3,000 Omoda and Jaecoo vehicles is set to arrive in Brazil in mid-December. About 70% of the lot will be Omoda 5 HEV crossovers, which are currently the brand’s most affordable models in the country. The rest will comprise the electric Omoda 5, the Omoda 7, and the Jaecoo 7. For young nameplates in a new market, that kind of scale looks like a decisive step toward greater visibility.

At the auto show in São Paulo, the company confirmed plans to launch the new Jaecoo 5 and Jaecoo 8 in 2026. Since the brand’s arrival in the country, more than 10,000 vehicles have been sold, with a target of 50,000 in 2026. The dealer network is also set to expand to 100 outlets. The cadence makes sense: more models, more places to buy them.

The Jaecoo 5 displayed at the show features a hybrid HEV setup with a combined output of 224 hp, matching the Omoda 5 HEV. The manufacturer also signaled plans for local production: a plant is slated for mid-2026, and CKD/SKD assembly is possible until construction is complete. The timeline seems ambitious yet workable.
