Just 150,000 won and a plain Chevrolet Trax ACTIV turns into a two-tone version with a black roof. It used to be almost an RS exclusive, and now it's landed on the Korean ACTIV, too. The base ACTIV runs 28.33 million won, so with the Black Roof the price climbs to 28.48 million won.
The bottom of the lineup got some attention as well. The old LS badge is gone — it's LS Deluxe now, and rear parking sensors, previously missing, are standard. Chevrolet Korea's official configurator lists it at 21.99 million won. The hardware underneath hasn't changed: a 1.2-liter E-Turbo Prime making 139 hp, paired with a 6-speed automatic, front-wheel drive only.
Here's the thing — this story is actually older than GM Authority's August 24 write-up. Korean outlets covered the LS Deluxe and the new ACTIV roof back on August 3, and by August 21 Chevrolet had already put the two-tone Trax into an ad campaign with Dayeon and Jay Park. So nothing new dropped late this month — it's a rerun of what was already on sale.
Dimensions stay put: 4,540 mm long, 2,700 mm wheelbase. Official fuel economy for the LS Deluxe is rated at 12.7 km/l — roughly 7.9 L/100 km — versus 12.3 km/l, or about 8.1 L/100 km, for the ACTIV. And the black roof brings zero technical upside: Chevrolet markets it plainly as a cheap way to make the ACTIV look closer to the pricier RS.
Chevrolet's regional lineups still diverge sharply from country to country, and the brand keeps a whole roster of models and trims sold only outside the US. The Korean Trax is just one more example — the new LS Deluxe and ACTIV Black Roof are built specifically for the model's home market.
