Leapmotor is bringing its electric B05 hatchback to Brazil — but you still can’t buy one. At Festival Interlagos in São Paulo, running August 27–30, 2026, the car will be shown for one reason only: to gauge how the public reacts. The brand’s official Brazilian office is upfront about it — sales aren’t starting yet.
The show car is the rear-wheel-drive version with a 218-hp electric motor. The B05 hits 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, and its maximum claimed range reaches 482 km on the WLTP cycle. That figure comes from a 67.1 kWh LFP battery, which can DC fast-charge at up to 168 kW: a 30–80% top-up takes roughly 17 minutes.
The B05 measures 4,430 mm long, 1,880 mm wide, with a 2,735 mm wheelbase. Here’s where it gets interesting: while nearly every Chinese EV storming the Brazilian market is a crossover, the B05 goes a different route — it’s a proper C-segment hatchback. In China, the model already has a hotter B05 Ultra variant with 241 hp, hitting 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
None of this is a coincidence. Leapmotor has already gained a foothold in South America through its partnership with Stellantis, and Brazil looks less like a backup market for the brand and more like the next logical step in its expansion beyond China and Europe.
Just don’t confuse the B05 with Brazil’s already-confirmed newcomer. At the same Festival Interlagos, the company will unveil the B10 Ultra-Hibrido with its gasoline range extender — and that’s the model Leapmotor officially calls its next launch in the country. The B05’s fate stays open: the automaker hasn’t named a sales date or a price for Brazil — it all comes down to how visitors react.
