MINI's new Mod My MINI programme opens up 2.5 million paint and decal combinations for Cooper and Countryman owners in India, with a 24-month warranty on official decals.

MINI just turned personalisation from a one-time showroom option into a service that can catch up with you years after you've driven off the lot. The Mod My MINI programme has launched in India for the Cooper and Countryman families: owners can now change the roof finish, mirror caps, spoilers and even the brake calipers on a car they already own, through the official dealer network.

Buyers get more than 100 classic MINI paint shades to pick from, plus themed decals and genuine accessories. According to the manufacturer, mixing and matching those options alone opens up more than 2.5 million possible combinations.

For owners of an older car, there's a detail that matters more than any of those numbers. Everything runs through an authorised dealer, so there's no need to hand the car over to an outside tuning shop. MINI is also backing the official decals with a 24-month warranty from the date of installation. Whether that same coverage extends to repaints, calipers and the rest of the accessory range isn't spelled out in the release. Coincidence? More likely marketing that isn't ready to promise more than it has to.

The programme runs through 17 MINI sales touchpoints across 16 Indian cities, while BMW Group India's service network covers 51 touchpoints in 36 cities. Pricing for the customisation itself hasn't been made public yet, which makes it hard to say just how much of an edge factory-backed support really has over a solid independent tuner.

MINI previously brought back the look of a rally-winning legend across three current models.
