Dodge is making bold noise again: by 2029, the brand will roll out a new Durango that looks like it just sprinted off a racetrack. The first renders from Kolesa show an SUV with a Charger-inspired face—and, unexpectedly, it really works.

The front end is pure aggression: rectangular LED headlamps linked by a horizontal strip, a massive black air intake, and a boldly sculpted hood. From the side, reshaped windows and black rocker trim visually lower the stance. Out back, it’s classic Dodge: stretched taillights, dual exhaust tips, and a black diffuser.

But the story isn’t just skin-deep. Under the hood, things get serious. Dodge isn’t ruling out a V8 comeback, provided regulations don’t clamp down. The 3.0-liter twin-turbo Hurricane is also under consideration; it has already proved its punch in Jeep and Charger Sixpack applications. As for a fully electric version, don’t expect it before 2030—EV demand within Dodge’s range remains modest.

If Dodge pairs a V8 with that Charger-flavored styling, the next Durango could become the class’s most charismatic SUV. For now, the battery crowd may have to wait.
