Who said Monjaro would stay a gasoline crossover forever? Geely just closed that chapter and opened a new one: the model is officially going global as a hybrid family. The Monjaro EM-i has already launched in Egypt, and the UAE, Mexico and Kazakhstan are next in line. Europe is on the list too — just a little later. Geely's own release confirms exactly this rollout sequence.
And this is only the next chapter. On August 19, the automaker had only announced the model's global debut in Egypt, revealing the GEA Evo architecture, the EM-i Super Hybrid system and the e-AWD electric all-wheel drive — but held back most of the technical details.
Now Chinese outlet Yiche has filled in the missing numbers. At the heart of the hybrid is a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine built specifically for the hybrid system. The 0-100 km/h sprint takes 5.83 seconds. Fuel consumption with a depleted battery comes in at just 5.4 L/100 km. The all-wheel-drive version adds e-AWD and electronically controlled CCD dampers.
At roughly 4,800 mm long, the wheelbase stretches to 2,845 mm — rear-seat space is well covered. Inside sit a 25.6-inch head-up display, the Flyme Auto infotainment system, the Flyme Sound audio setup and 256-color ambient lighting. There are three trims in total: front-wheel-drive Pro and Max, and all-wheel-drive Ultra. Geely also states a braking distance from 100 km/h of 33 meters and a moose-test result of 79 km/h.
For Kazakhstan, this is no longer just a promise. Even before the global premiere, the Monjaro EM-i had already surfaced in local certification filings — with both front- and all-wheel-drive listed. That makes Kazakhstan one of the most concrete stops on the model's expansion map, not just a line in a future marketing plan.
