Kia PV5 Cargo electric van scores five stars in 2025 Euro NCAP
Discover how the Kia PV5 Cargo electric van earned a 2025 Euro NCAP five-star rating, with proven ADAS, strong occupant protection, and post-crash care.
The Kia PV5 Cargo electric van has earned the maximum five-star rating in the 2025 Euro NCAP safety assessment for commercial models. According to the organization, the vehicle scored 75% for occupant protection, 80% for safety systems and crash avoidance, and 80% for post-crash measures.
Experts highlighted the effectiveness of the standard ADAS suite, including automatic emergency braking with forward-collision warning. In testing, the system performed reliably in high-speed car-to-car scenarios and prevented most incidents involving pedestrians and cyclists. For operators, that kind of consistency is what makes assistance tech truly valuable day to day.
The lane-keeping system drew high marks for precise path corrections and timely interventions, while the speed assistance function determines limits using map data and a camera and displays them to the driver. Taken together, the behavior suggests a calibration aimed at real traffic rather than just ticking boxes in a lab.
Kia’s PBV division head Sandae Kim said the top score confirms the brand’s safety standards and supports the expansion of the PBV lineup in Europe. The takeaway for commercial buyers is straightforward: look beyond functionality to the level of protection—an especially relevant priority in urban conditions.
