Peugeot is expanding its local footprint in the light-commercial arena: production of the new Expert Traveller has started at the Tofaş plant in Bursa. With demand rising for roomy, multipurpose vans for business needs and family trips alike, launching assembly of the passenger-focused version looks like a natural next step—especially after Turkey already began building the Expert in Van form.

The start of production drew visible attention from the top management. Global Peugeot CEO Alain Favey visited the facility, toured the site, and highlighted both the strong engineering base and the capabilities of the local R&D team, as well as the high standard of conveyor quality by Stellantis benchmarks. Tofaş, for its part, emphasizes the plant’s gains in efficiency and confidence in the consistent quality of the Expert Van and Traveller coming off the line.

Peugeot’s team in Turkey says local assembly should quickly improve availability: first the Traveller will reach showrooms, then the roads. The brand also expects to begin 2026 with a stronger LCV lineup, crediting the advantages of local production.

The Expert Traveller is positioned as the flagship of the range: an 8+1 seating layout, the new digital Peugeot i-Cockpit, a heated steering wheel, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch central display, plus a 180° rear camera. The hardware is deliberately practical: a 2.2 BlueHDi turbodiesel with 180 hp paired with an EAT8 eight-speed automatic. The specification reads as confident rather than flashy, the kind of setup that tends to make daily use easier without complicating the basics.
