Honda Super-One: compact urban EV tuned for Australia
Meet the Honda Super-One, a compact electric hatch with a bigger body, punchier motor, simulated gears and Australian tuning. Expected range under 300 km.
The new Honda Super-One is developed from the N-One e hatchback, but it departs from the original with a larger body and a more powerful electric motor.
It measures under 3.6 meters in length and less than 1.6 meters in width. That keeps it smaller than many rivals currently on sale in Australia, including the BYD Atto 1 and the Hyundai Inster.
Honda has yet to disclose full powertrain details, but the Super-One will use a single electric motor driving the front axle. Battery size and range remain unconfirmed; given its urban brief, the range is expected to come in under 300 km.
A standout touch is a simulated gear selector intended to boost driver involvement. The Super-One will also play an artificial engine note to enhance the auditory experience—an approach that hints at a focus on feel and character rather than pure silence.
For the Australian market, engineers have readied a dedicated chassis and dynamics tune optimized for local road conditions. Tailored calibration typically pays off in ride comfort and confidence, so the final setup will be worth watching; full details are due closer to the official on-sale date.
