Fresh spy photos of the new BMW X7 show that the brand’s flagship will keep its signature large grille. Even as BMW shifts to the cleaner lines and integrated lighting of its Neue Klasse design language, the biggest models appear set to stick with familiar visual cues.

The new X7 doesn’t seem to share visible body panels with the current generation, yet it broadly follows the same design direction. It retains the split, two-tier front lighting seen on the latest 7 Series and the facelifted X7. The body looks noticeably more restrained: straighter lines and pared-back surfaces compared with the version that debuted in 2018. The overall impression is tighter and more confident, with form doing more of the talking than ornament.

Spy photographers also captured a prototype with the M Sport package. It’s expected to wear the M60 badge and, in some regions, to feature a V8. Four large exhaust tips give this away. The signal from BMW is unambiguous: its flagships aren’t abandoning tradition, a stance that should help keep the X7 firmly among the top SUVs of 2026.
