Honda Heritage Works: genuine NSX parts and factory restorations
Discover Honda's new Heritage Works: genuine NSX parts and factory restorations from Tochigi. Worldwide parts; NSX rebuilds begin in 2026 via Japan dealers.
Honda has officially signaled a serious push to safeguard its performance heritage. The company is launching a new Heritage Works division to supply genuine parts and carry out factory restorations of landmark models, starting with the first-generation NSX. For a brand long associated with engineering precision and reliability, it’s a logical, if long-awaited, move.
The initiative splits into two streams. The first—Honda Heritage Parts—focuses on reproducing discontinued components. That includes compatible pieces made with modern materials and processes, as well as exact reprints that faithfully mirror original NSX-era parts. For owners of classic sports cars, addressing the chronic shortage of authentic components targets the core headache.
The second track—Honda Restoration Service—offers full factory refurbishments. The work will be carried out at a facility in Tochigi Prefecture, where the NSX was once built. Customers will be able to choose between a baseline restoration focused on the engine, suspension, and driving performance, or a comprehensive rebuild that covers the body, interior, and mechanicals, tailored to each car’s condition. Starting with the NSX feels like the natural choice for a program centered on an icon.
Honda will begin accepting restoration requests for the first-generation NSX in January 2026 through its dealers, with work slated to start in the spring. Parts will be available worldwide, though for now the restoration itself is limited to Japan—an understandable constraint that may still complicate participation for owners abroad.
