Automotive news from Japan: the sixth-generation Honda CR-V, already familiar to overseas markets, will finally reach Japanese dealers in February 2026 in e:HEV form. As the official launch draws near, Honda Access is stoking interest with something many buyers value more than a line of figures on a spec sheet: a ready-made, fully factory customization kit.

Access sticks to its hallmark method: instead of a jumble of parts, it offers cohesive exterior coordinates—uniformly shaped pieces that change the mood through paint and accents. The CR-V e:HEV gets two themes. Urban Premium aims for a more city-focused, tidy and athletic look, while Tough Premium adds visual heft and a sense of durability, emphasizing the SUV character.

At a media preview, the top e:HEV RS BLACK EDITION was shown in the Tough Premium setup: lower skirts, side garnishes, extensions, mudguards, and practical touches like wind deflectors and door-handle protection. At the back, an enlarged spoiler and a set of decorative pieces reinforce the darker motif. Inside, the focus is on convenience: premium floor mats, sill plates, and a cargo tray for wet or muddy items, plus ambient lighting and options such as a factory dashcam and ETC 2.0. The bundle comes across as cohesive rather than flashy—tailoring that feels considered and likely to age well.

The new CR-V e:HEV has yet to hit the market, yet Honda is already offering careful personalization without straying from the brand’s design logic or its warranty playbook. A sensible move that gives buyers the look they want while keeping it strictly factory.
