Jeep weighs Renegade’s long-term return to Europe by 2030
Jeep may revive the Renegade in Europe by 2030 on the STLA Small platform, built in Tychy, with a boxier, off-road focus and electric or hybrid powertrains.
Jeep is weighing a long-term return of the Renegade to Europe. According to industry sources, the next compact SUV could arrive around 2030 on the STLA Small platform, with production planned at the Tychy plant in Poland. The timeline hints that the brand is taking a measured approach to line up product, platform, and manufacturing.
The original Jeep Renegade exited Europe in autumn 2024 as production ended, though it will remain on sale in South America and receive an update in the coming years. Europe should not expect a direct successor in the near term, yet a future project could effectively take over the Renegade’s role even if it wears a different badge—nameplates can evolve, but the mission often stays the same.
The forthcoming SUV is not intended to go head-to-head with the Jeep Avenger; instead, it would occupy a more utilitarian niche. Expect a boxier silhouette and a stronger off-road bent, while the Avenger keeps its urban focus. At roughly 4.30–4.35 meters long, it would sit above the Avenger and align with other compact crossovers based on STLA Small. That footprint should balance easy maneuvering with the stance buyers expect from a Jeep.
Early guidance on the powertrain lineup points to electric versions and hybrids, with gasoline options still possible if Europe’s internal-combustion phaseout timeline is reconsidered. Unlike the Avenger, the next Renegade could be positioned as a global model and may also reach the U.S. market—a broader rollout would suit a small Jeep with genuine utility ambitions.
