2027 Ram 2500 Power Wagon finally gets the 6.7L Cummins HO diesel
The 2027 Ram 2500 Power Wagon adds a 6.7L Cummins High-Output diesel, 8-speed auto, 4WD, boosting towing to nearly 20,000 lb. Sales start H2 2026 at $88,470
Ram has finally done what many had been waiting for: for the 2027 model year, the off-road version of the heavy-duty 2500 can be ordered with the 6.7-liter Cummins High-Output turbodiesel. According to SPEEDME.RU, the engine is rated at 430 hp and 1,456 Nm. It pairs with an 8-speed automatic and standard four-wheel drive.
The big practical gain is pulling power and towing. Previously, the Power Wagon stuck with the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 (405 hp), and trailer capacity topped out around 10,590 pounds, or about 4,804 kg. Now Ram is talking about nearly 20,000 pounds, effectively moving the Power Wagon into another league of capability without blunting its off-road character.
In terms of equipment, it's the familiar Power Wagon: Crew Cab with a short bed, 20-inch wheels and 34-inch A/T tires, locking differentials, an electronically disconnecting sway bar, skid plates and Bilstein shocks, and about 12.6 inches (around 320 mm) of ground clearance.

Inside, a 12-inch Uconnect 5 and a towing package come standard, while options are set to include a larger 14.5-inch display and a premium audio system.
Sales of the diesel Ram 2500 Power Wagon are slated for the second half of 2026, with a starting price of $88,470 including destination. It comes across as one of those rare cases where adding an engine genuinely changes the point of the trim rather than merely adding a line to the price sheet.
