Malaysia may soon get the Xpeng G6 RWD Standard Range with a 68.5 kWh LFP battery, 252 hp and 440 Nm, prioritizing daily usability over maximum range and speed.

The Xpeng G6 electric SUV is currently offered in Malaysia in three versions: RWD Long Range Pro, AWD Performance, and AWD Black Edition.

Given the way the lineup is structured, the next addition is most likely to be the rear-wheel-drive Standard Range, a setup that served as the base trim before the facelift but has been missing since an October update last year. Such a version would likely appeal to buyers focused on everyday usability rather than chasing the longest possible range.

In the standard RWD configuration, the G6 uses a rear-mounted electric motor rated at 252 hp (248 hp or 185 kW) and 440 Nm of torque.

The new RWD Standard Range is set to feature a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 68.5 kWh, compared with the 80.8 kWh pack in the other variants. As a result, its 0–100 km/h acceleration and WLTP-rated driving range will sit below the more advanced G6 versions, trading outright numbers for a simpler, more pragmatic package that suits daily driving.
