Olympic torch lights up Fiat's Mirafiori ahead of Milan–Cortina 2026
The Olympic torch visited Fiat’s Mirafiori plant. For Milan–Cortina 2026, Stellantis will supply 3,000 vehicles, over half electrified, to support the Games.
The historic Fiat Mirafiori plant in Turin became one of the key stops on the Olympic torch’s route to the Milan–Cortina 2026 Winter Games, underscoring the brand’s bond with the city and its industrial roots.
Mirafiori as a symbol of Fiat and Turin
The torch’s visit to Mirafiori carries special weight. For decades, this plant was Fiat’s industrial heartbeat and today it remains a vital Stellantis site, where the new Fiat 500 Hybrid is produced. For Turin, it’s more than a manufacturing address—it’s part of the city’s collective identity, and the symbolism feels almost self-evident.

Stellantis’ involvement and the event’s atmosphere
More than 1,500 employees and their family members took part. The relay drew support from Stellantis Chairman John Elkann, Fiat CEO Olivier François, and Stellantis Enlarged Europe COO Emanuele Cappellano. The flame moved right along the production line, with plant workers themselves serving as torchbearers—a choice that turned the factory floor into a grandstand and brought the spectacle close to the people who build the cars.
What it means for the brands and the Olympics
Fiat and other Italian Stellantis brands are official partners of the relay. For the Milan–Cortina 2026 Games, the group will provide around 3,000 vehicles, more than half of them electrified, to support athletes, staff, and volunteers—a practical commitment that also signals where the lineup is heading.
