Genesis, Hyundai's premium brand, is expanding its strategy in Europe beyond purely electric vehicles. The lineup will now include four- and six-cylinder gasoline engines, as well as hybrid versions, according to Hyundai Group board member Manfred Harrer, who oversees development.

Harrer explained that the company is actively investing in new efficient internal combustion engines, modern hybrid technology, and range-extender solutions, though these systems aren't a priority for the performance-focused Magma line. Genesis is currently developing the next two Magma versions—one as a hybrid and another with an internal combustion engine. Magma represents the brand's new high-performance lineup.

Hyundai will continue to develop diesel models, but not for Europe, where tightening environmental regulations have shifted focus toward electrification and gasoline hybrid systems. Diesel versions will remain available in other regions.

Harrer noted that the full transition to electric vehicles is progressing slower than expected, prompting the company to adjust its strategy to meet market demand. In the near future, Genesis plans to introduce both new electric cars and updated models with other powertrain types.

Currently, the electric Magma lineup includes the GV60 crossover, along with battery-powered versions of the GV70 SUV and G80 sedan.
