The 2026 Taos is now imported from Mexico and has received design updates, including new headlights with redesigned lighting graphics, a revised front bumper, and larger air intakes. At the rear, there are new taillights connected by an LED light bar and updated wheels. For the first time in Brazil, the model features an illuminated logo on the tailgate.
Inside, the cabin boasts improved materials and a dark interior trim. The central VW Play Connect screen has grown to 10.1 inches, supporting over-the-air updates, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. The instrument cluster remains at 10.25 inches. Standard equipment already includes six airbags, a full suite of driver-assistance systems, and modern telematics.

The engine lineup remains unchanged, featuring the familiar 1.4 TSI Flex engine with 150 horsepower and 25.5 kg·m of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Fuel efficiency figures reach up to 13.3 km/l on the highway. The suspension retains its independent multi-link setup, delivering balanced handling.
With a price reduction, the Taos becomes more appealing to buyers seeking a well-equipped midsize SUV. The Comfortline and Highline trims now come with expanded equipment lists, ranging from IQ.Light and adaptive cruise control to leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, and Park Assist.
