Toyota has released a new teaser for a mysterious model, confirming the main details: this is a large three-row SUV with captain's chairs and a panoramic roof. The debut is scheduled for February 10, and the first images suggest it's the production version of the bZ Large concept.

What the new images reveal

The processed teaser shows six seats: two in the front, a second row with captain's chairs, and a full third row. USB ports are visible in the C-pillar area, and the second row has its own climate controls. A large glass roof creates the impression of a spacious family electric SUV designed for long trips.

Where this model could come from

The body contours and light strip graphics match the 2021 bZ Large concept and its subsequent patent images. For production, the model will feature traditional mirrors and refined door hardware. The form factor and proportions point to Highlander-sized dimensions, but with a fully electric platform and modern interior layout.

Production plans

Toyota previously announced a $1.3 billion investment in its Kentucky plant to produce a three-row electric SUV. The teaser's appearance two years later logically aligns with these plans. A Subaru version is also expected, continuing the joint Solterra/bZ model lineup. One question remains open: whether this model will be exclusively EV or also paired with a new generation of internal combustion Highlander.

Toyota's new SUV promises to be a key competitor to the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9. The three-row layout, large platform, and electric architecture position it in a segment where the Japanese brand has long been preparing a breakthrough. On February 10, it will become clear exactly what Toyota names its new flagship family electric vehicle.
