New GWM ORA 5 Crossover Arrives in Europe with Hybrid and Electric Powertrains
The new ORA 5 crossover from Great Wall Motors launches in Europe with hybrid (up to 1,000 km range) and electric (435 km) versions, starting at around €25,000.
Chinese automaker Great Wall Motors is introducing the new ORA 5 crossover to the European market, emphasizing versatility in its powertrain lineup. The model will be available both as a hybrid with a combined range of up to 1,000 km and as a fully electric version with an autonomy of around 435 km.
The new car was developed with European requirements in mind, including chassis tuning and road behavior. In terms of dimensions, the ORA 5 goes beyond the typical B-SUV segment: its length is 4,447 mm and the wheelbase reaches 2,720 mm, resulting in a more spacious cabin. The design retains the signature round LED headlights with retro motifs, while the rear stands out with an unconventional integration of LED lighting into the lower part of the glass.

Inside, the cabin features typical segment digitalization: a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central screen, while physical climate controls are retained. Equipment includes wireless services, adaptive cruise control, and a suite of safety assistants, bringing the model up to European competitive standards.
The main focus is on the powertrains. The base gasoline engine produces 158 hp, while a hybrid version delivers 223 hp using a small battery and electric assistance. This modification achieves a total range of up to 1,000 km. The fully electric version offers 204 hp and a 58.3 kWh battery.
The ORA 5's European launch will begin in Italy, with a starting price expected around 25,000 euros. That positions it as another strong player in the affordable crossover segment, where competition with European brands is intensifying.
