Lexus, it seems, is still in no rush to electrify the world — yet in the US it has suddenly decided to show what its electric future looks like. Lexus of America has announced a temporary venue called Curated by Lexus in the famous Santana Row district of San Jose, California. The doors open on June 11 and close on September 7, 2026. And no, it’s not a dealership.
The star of the display is the new Lexus TZ — the brand’s first ever fully electric three-row SUV. It sounds like a bold statement, and the numbers back it up: standard DIRECT4 all-wheel drive and up to 483 km of range by the manufacturer’s estimate on 20-inch wheels.
Next to it stands the redesigned Lexus ES, which now features battery-electric versions for the first time. The front-wheel-drive ES 350e delivers 494 km on the EPA cycle, while the all-wheel-drive ES 500e returns 444 km. The lineup is rounded out by the Lexus RZ 550e F SPORT AWD: 402 hp, 369 km of EPA range, and an attitude in which Lexus has, for the first time, allowed itself a hint of fury.
Curated by Lexus is not meant to be a showroom. The brand is promising art installations, tastings, cultural programming, and test drives on select dates. Guests will also be told about IONNA and Treehouse charging solutions — meaning Lexus is deliberately weaving its EVs into the fabric of everyday life rather than placing them on a pedestal like relics.
The simple thought on the surface: Lexus isn’t selling cars. Lexus is selling an experience. And the first country to receive that experience in full is the United States.
